Jasper Police Department

On behalf of the officers and support staff of the Jasper Police Department, I would like to introduce you to the Jasper Police Department.

The Jasper Police has 42 sworn officers and 23 support personnel. The police department has several different divisions. The Patrol Division is the uniformed division and normally has the first contact with the public. We have 14 marked police cars and 8 unmarked units. Patrol officers investigate all misdemeanor crimes and enforce state and municipal laws.

The Investigative division investigates all felony crimes. Inside the detective division there are several sub-divisions: The Arson Team, Paper Crimes, Homicide, Theft/Burglary, Robbery and the Narcotics Division.

We have one school resource officer who works out of Walker High School.

The Jasper Police Department has a Tactical Unit with 9 members. Their main responsibility is entry of drug search warrants and emergency response as needed.

The support personnel include dispatchers, jailers, clerks, administration mechanics and maintenance.
