The City of Jasper provides a variety of seasonal sports for youth athletic leagues and adult athletic programs. All programs stress skill development, participation, and fun. Jasper Parks and Recreation Department welcomes individuals of all abilities into its programs and activities. If you are not sure what type of assistance or reasonable accommodation is appropriate for you in a particular program, please contact the Department Staff





It is offered for male teams, minimum age of 16 for team members, with registration usually held in February. All games are held at either the Lee Swann Gymnasium at Memorial Park or the Percy Goode Community Center located at James Cox Park.


Softball is offered, slow pitch only, for male, female, and co-ed teams, minimum age of 16 for team members for Church and Independent leagues. Registration is held usually held in March. Games are held at the Memorial Park Softball Fields or Coke Oven Field at A. P. Howell Park.


Volleyball, both male and female, minimum age of 16 for team members for open league play with registration is held in August.

The mission of Athletics is to encourage good sportsmanship, team work, social interaction, and physical fitness through active participation, while enhancing the basic fundamentals of a sport. We are dedicated to provide a fun and safe environment that will ensure a positive, athletic, and educational experience for everyone.

To that end, City of Jasper encourages you to get involved in athletics in our local community either through participating and/or volunteering. The City of Jasper offers the following youth athletic programs:


Baseball is offered to individual youth participants, ages 4 to 16 with registration normally held between January and February each year for ages 4 through 12 and ages 13 through 16 in April. The birth date cut-off is April 30th. Baseball games are played at Woods Field, Murphy Field and Fowler Park. Fall baseball is offered for youth teams only for ages 7 – 12 with registration in July of each year.


Basketball is offered for youth individuals ages 5-15 (participants must be 5 years of age before September 1st of current year). Registration is normally held between October and November of each year. Practices are usually held twice per week. All games are played at either the Lee Swann Gymnasium at Memorial Park or the Percy Goode Community Center located at James Cox Park.


Soccer is offered for children ages 3-12. All soccer games are held at Memorial Park. Registration for soccer is normally held in July.


Softball is offered for female youth ages from 5 to 18, fast pitch only. Practices and all home games are held normally at Memorial Park Softball Fields with travel required for away games. Teams usually play 2-3 times per week with some games on Saturdays. Registration is normally held between January and February each year. 

 Jasper Sharks

The Jasper Swim Team trains and sponsors Swim Meets in the Memorial Park Natatorium. 


Volleyball is offered for female individuals ages 8-13 with registration held in July. All matches are conducted at either the Lee Swann Gymnasium at Memorial Park or the Percy Goode Community Center located at James Cox Park.
