On September 21, the Jasper City Council appointed Jenny Brown Short by unanimous vote to fill the District One Council seat recently vacated by Jed Daniel. Judge Jim Brakefield immediately swore her in, and Councilmember Short continued the rest of the meeting from her seat on the Council's bench.
