Home Care & Hospice Month

Home Care & Hospice group

November 15, 2022 - At this morning's council meeting, Mayor O’Mary and the Jasper City Council proclaimed November as Home Care & Hospice Month in Jasper. Mayor O'Mary read the proclamation aloud, recognizing home care nurses, therapists, aids, and social workers, and encouraging citizens to learn more about home care and hospice concepts for the elderly, disabled, and infirm; especially as more and more people prefer to age in place. As the proclamation states, home care in the U.S. is a growing alternative to hospitalization and other institution-based forms of health care for acute and chronic illnesses. Home care services allow families to stay together with the goal of providing for greater health, dignity, and comfort in their own homes. Representatives from area home care/hospice organizations were present for the presentation, including Southeast Hospice and Comfort Care Hospice.
