Pickleball courts construction

February 15, 2024 - The pickleball courts behind Swann Gym at Memorial Park have been paved. Up next will be the final court color surfacing, which can’t be applied until the new pavement cures for at least 30 days. It’s estimated that the final surface could be applied in mid-to-late March, depending on the weather.

New playground equipment at A.P. Howell Park (also known as Coke Oven Park) is in the process of being installed and is expected to be completed this spring. Gamble Park, Memorial's Apex Park, and North Jasper Park have all recently had new playground equipment installed, making this the fourth major Jasper park renovation in two years.

The west Jasper Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project that provided sewer and water line, curb and gutter, and sidewalk improvements on portions of 10th Avenue and 19th Street West was recently completed. Paving in conjunction with that work, though not part of the grant project, was fully funded by the city and was finished last week. Temporary striping has been applied with final striping scheduled soon after once the pavement has cured.
