Christmas Week:
- Monday and Tuesday pickups will be moved to Monday, Dec. 22.
- Wednesday pickups will be moved to Tuesday, Dec. 23.
- Thursday pickups will be moved to Friday, Dec. 26.
New Year’s Week:
JASPER, AL - The City of Jasper welcomed Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) Director Kenneth Boswell and Deputy Director Ashley Toole on Monday for a comprehensive visit focused on strengthening infrastructure, advancing workforce development initiatives, and supporting long-term economic growth throughout the region.

’Tis the season in Jasper. Our Christmas tree is now in place in front of the new City Hall, generously donated from the farm of Mr. James Frye, a highly decorated veteran honored for more than 25 years of distinguished service to the United States Army and the Military Police Corps Regiment.

CITY OF JASPER PRESENTS $1 MILLION TO THE WALKER AREA
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR THE HEMAN DRUMMOND CENTER OF INNOVATION
December 2, 2025 - At today’s Jasper City Council meeting, Mayor Josh Gates and the City Council had the privilege of presenting Donna Kilgore with an official proclamation recognizing her decades of outstanding service to the Children’s Policy Council and the Jasper Area Family Services Center.
November 24, 2025 - 🌾 Celebrating Alabama Farm-City Week 🌾
At last Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the City of Jasper presented a proclamation recognizing Alabama Farm-City Week, which will be observed November 21 through 27, 2025. Mayor Josh Gates presented the proclamation to Walker County Extension Director Danny Cain and expressed the city’s deep appreciation for the farmers, foresters, and agricultural professionals who strengthen our state and community.
There will be no Jasper garbage collection on Thursday or Friday, November 27 and 28, 2025, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Regular Thursday pickups will occur on Wednesday.
All non-essential city offices will be closed November 27-28, 2025, and will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, December 1, 2025.
There will be no Jasper garbage/debris collection on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, due to the Veterans Day holiday. Monday pickups will not change with collection through the week delayed by one day beginning with the regular Tuesday pickups occurring on Wednesday.
All non-essential city offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and will reopen for regular business hours on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
