October 8, 2025 - Mayor Cowen and the Jasper City Council proclaimed the month of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Jasper to raise awareness and help spread the word about the importance of breast cancer screening and support.
Members of Walker County Hands of Hope were present for the reading and presentation of the proclamation at yesterday's council meeting. Walker County Hands of Hope is a local nonprofit group established in 2018 to help provide assistance to local cancer patients and their families. The pink bows displayed around Jasper are courtesy of Walker County Hands of Hope to raise awareness of breast cancer.
