ALDOT to set girders for bridge project in Jasper
 
TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama Department of Transportation has approved lane closures to allow the contractor to place girders for the bridge on State Route 5 over State Route 69 (US-78A) in Jasper in early April.
 
SR-69 (US-78A), within the work zone, will fully close in both directions beginning Monday, April 1 at 6 a.m. until Friday, April 5 at 11:59 p.m., weather permitting.
 
Entrance and exit ramps will remain open throughout the closure.
 
This work is part of the ongoing bridge replacement and intersection improvement project that is intended to improve safety, mobility and commerce. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
 
Wright Brothers Construction Company was awarded the project at $8.8 million.
