CITY OF JASPER LAUNCHES NEW COMMUNITY CALENDAR AS A
CENTRAL RESOURCE FOR RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
JASPER, AL - The City of Jasper is proud to announce the launch of its new Community Calendar, a centralized, public resource designed to showcase the many events, activities, and opportunities taking place throughout the community.
The calendar is now live and can be accessed at: jaspercity.com/events
This online tool is intended to serve residents, visitors, organizations, and community stakeholders by providing a single location to view what is happening across Jasper. Local organizations and partners are encouraged to link to the calendar from their own websites to help make it widely accessible and useful for the entire community.
The Community Events Calendar was created with several goals in mind:
- To highlight the wide variety of public events and offerings taking place in Jasper
- To provide visitors with a clear view of what the community has to offer
- To assist organizations and event planners in avoiding scheduling conflicts by seeing what is already planned
Mayor Josh Gates emphasized the importance of this new resource to the community: “Jasper is an active, engaged community with something happening almost every week. This calendar gives us a way to bring all of those opportunities together in one place so residents can stay informed, visitors can see the vibrancy of our city, and organizations can better coordinate their events. It is a simple tool that will make a meaningful difference in how we share information and plan as a community.”
Organizations and individuals hosting public events within the City of Jasper are invited to submit their events for inclusion on the calendar by emailing jaspercommunitycalendar@gmail.com.
When submitting an event, please include as much information as possible:
- Event name
- Location
- Date and time
- Back-up or rain plan, if applicable
- Contact information
- Sponsoring organization
Please note: Submission to the Community Events Calendar does not replace any required permitting or approvals that may be necessary for your event.
The City will make every effort to keep the calendar current and comprehensive, and looks forward to this becoming a valuable, shared planning resource for the Jasper community.
