Revenue Department

Mission Statement -  The Revenue Department is dedicated to collect all revenue due to the City and to do so promptly, courteously, and in a manner that inspires public confidence in the integrity and fairness of the Department and to provide complete, accurate, and timely information and services to the businesses and taxpayers.

The Revenue Department is responsible for the administration, collection, and enforcement of the city's sales and use tax, business license fees, rental tax, garbage collection fees, and hotel/motel accommodations tax ordinances and regulations. Taxpayer education, revenue enhancement, automation and refinement of existing processes, and high job and customer service performance standards for the Division staff are the focus of the department

The primary objectives of the department are:

  • To ensure that all appropriate taxes are properly collected and remitted by businesses
  • To educate and inform businesses and others about the tax laws and requirements
  • Monitor business activity that may affect the tax status of the business and/or Jasper's revenue base

The Revenue office is located at 400 19th Street West on the first floor of Jasper City Hall and is open from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm, local time, Monday through Friday.
