April 8, 2024 - New Street Department Equipment: The Jasper City Council approved a budget amendment at Tuesday’s council meeting to provide funding to purchase a new Kubota skid steer loader tractor for the Street Department. During Mayor O’Mary’s comments at the end of the meeting, he reported that several million dollars have been spent on equipment for the Street Department in recent years to provide them with the finest spread of equipment they have had in the city’s history. Mayor shared that he is proud that the purchase of the nearly $100,000 tractor comes with no debt to the city and having such equipment allows the Street Department to do much more for the citizens of Jasper and do it in a timely manner.
