Mayor and Walker Baptist Administration

May 6, 2022 - Mayor O'Mary presented a proclamation this morning to Suzanne Pugh, Walker Baptist Medical Center's chief operating officer, on behalf of WBMC. The proclamation recognizes and commends staff and physicians at Walker Baptist for their tireless work during the COVID pandemic. The proclamation reads:

WHEREAS, words can’t begin to express our gratitude for the efforts of the men and women at Walker Baptist Medical Center who lead us safely through the last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, hospital staff and their physicians were among the first to see the devastating impact of this disease and what it could do to the health of our citizens; and

WHEREAS, they never looked back, but stood on the frontlines caring for both COVID and non-COVID patients relentlessly; and

WHEREAS, they did whatever was necessary to protect our

community, all while providing the healthcare needed to save lives; and

WHEREAS, after two years, these individuals are tired, and they still need our support and encouragement; they’ve weathered a huge storm and never wavered; they care about this community, and we owe them a huge thank you.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, David P. O’Mary, Mayor of the City of Jasper, Alabama do proclaim Friday, May 6, 2022, a celebration in tribute to the staff and physicians at Walker Baptist Medical Center for their extraordinary work over the last two years and the hope that they give us for a healthy future.
