June 21, 2022 - At this morning’s regular meeting, the Jasper City Council authorized Mayor O’Mary to enter into an agreement with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for the administrative management of Walker County Lake. This agreement is still forthcoming, but when it is received Mayor O’Mary is now authorized to sign on behalf of the city. The State of Alabama will continue to manage the aquatics side, such as fish population, fertilizing, etc. There is not yet a timetable for when the lake will reopen.
