
November 30, 2023 - As the holidays and election season approaches, please be reminded of Jasper’s sign ordinance when placing any kind of sign within the city limits. Jasper Police and Street departments will remove all signage that violates our city ordinance and will be disposed of upon removal. Here are some key points to remember:
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱
· Any sign that constitutes a safety hazard, including signs that obstruct visibility for traffic.
· Signs located in the public right-of-way including trees, poles, posts, or any similar means of attachment, and signs attached to private property located in the right-of-way.
𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀
· Political campaign signs are permitted on private property and shall be removed within five days following the election or referendum.
· Special event signs: Special event signs/banners (for a fair, festival, etc.) may be displayed on the lot where the event is to take place or in a common area designated by the city. Such signs shall be permitted for a period of up to four weeks before the event and shall be removed within three days following the special event.
